2026 GENERAL ELECTION VOTER DEADLINES – FACT-CHECKED STATE GUIDE CONNECTICUT

For many college students, voting while away from home can feel more complicated than it needs to be. Whether you plan to vote in your home state or are eligible to register and vote in Connecticut, the most important step is knowing your deadlines and making a plan early. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, but voter registration deadlines, early-voting periods, and mail or absentee ballot requirements vary considerably by state. This guide covers the states where many Sacred Heart students call home and is designed to make that information easier to find in one place. Midterm elections are an important opportunity to make your voice heard and participate in the decisions that will shape your communities and the country. Regardless of whom you support or how you identify politically, participation is what gives representative government its strength. Take a few minutes to review the requirements for your state, make a plan to vote, and encourage the people around you to do the same!
